John, Susan Expect First baby in ‘89!

John Creed and Susan Andrews are expecting their first child on June 5, 1989.

“We don’t care if it’s a boy or girl, as long as it’s happy and healthy and doesn’t mind a vagabond lifestyle,” said John. “On another level, I will say that issues such as day care, nuclear war, and good schools suddenly become far more important than ever before. Next thing you know I’ll be running for school board.”

John has even started to make references such as “... and I think it’s important if we are to build a better world for our children.” (Spare us, Mr. Creed. You’re not the first guy in the world who has ever become a father.)

So far Susan has been feeling great, even if she can’t squeeze into her jeans anymore.

“It took a while for us both to decide to have a baby,” said Susan. “But now we’re both really excited about it, and so is Ma Bell. For the past month, John’s been burning up the telephone lines spreading the news.”

As expected, both sides of the family are ecstatic.

John’s and Susan’s Fairbanks friends, Tom and Barbara Bradley, not to be outdone, are expecting their second child in July.
